A High-Coverage Camera Assisted Received Signal Strength Ratio Algorithm for Indoor Visible Light Positioning

A high-coverage algorithm termed enhanced camera assisted received signal strength ratio (eCA-RSSR) positioning is proposed for visible light (VLP) systems. The basic idea of eCA-RSSR to utilize visual information captured by the estimate first incidence angles lights. Based on angles, utilizes (RSSR) calculated photodiode (PD) ratios distances between LEDs and receiver. an Euclidean plane geometry theorem, transforms into absolute values. In this way, only requires three both orientation-free 2D 3D positioning, implying that can achieve high coverage. values distances, linear least square method employed position Therefore, receiver having a small distance PD camera, accuracy does not depend starting non-linear complexity low. Furthermore, since significantly affect performance eCA-RSSR, we further propose compensation based single-view geometry. Experiment results show errors less than five centimeters achievable eCA-RSSR. Simulation 80th percentile about four improve coverage at low cost.
